GAWK VISUAL ENGINEERS INNOVATES WITH TRIGA TENSIONED TEXTILE DISPLAY SOLUTION INSTALLED IN THE UNITED ARAB EMARITES
TRIGA DISPLAYS is a unique, proudly South African tensioned textile display solution that just keeps evolving as distributors test the limits of creativity and design. The TRIGA range consists of two product options, TRIGA Max and TRIGA Go, each with its own unique properties, but both systems offering the same extreme versatility, design flexibility and awesome quality that is synonymous with TRIGA.
Distributors, Gawk Visual Engineers recently collaborated with Cape Town based design consultancy, Formula D, to deliver a jaw-dropping structure for the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) for their Winter Enrichment Programs (WEP). The 2023 WEP looked at knowledge transformation through the lens of EDGE, the cusp of discovery, where the bold take risks to push frontiers of understanding and change the world through research. Their theme very much in line with how the Gawk team pushes boundaries with TRIGA Displays.
Gawk produced a TRIGA Max circular maze with multiple entrances leading delegates on a journey of discovery. With a diameter of 10m, a height of 2.5m, 200 linear meters of vibrant printed textile graphics and eight content rich Digi-Kiosks, the entire kit was prebuilt in the GAWK factory. This step was critical because they needed a video recording of the set-up as the actual installation team was KAUST students over 5500km away in Jeddah. These students had never even seen a TRIGA Max display and now would need to assemble a fairly large and complicated structure with all its accessories. “The decision to go with TRIGA was based on the system quality, sustainability, portability, and ease of assembly without any tools. Gawk provided seamless service and their attention to detail really impressed us. “ Said Jesse Ede, Production Designer from Formula D.
The kit made its way to the UAE and with the aid of the installation videos and some tips from the local team the installation was a seamless, toolless and above all relatively quick affair. The imposing structure with its perfectly tensioned, bold graphics is a focal point in the entrance of KAUST and stands as a proud example of South African innovation, engineering and excellence.
