University of Johannesburg School appoints new Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Ms Akhona Melani as the new Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator for the University of Johannesburg School of Tourism and Hospitality. With her expertise in connecting students with industry opportunities, Ms Melani will facilitate placing our third-year Tourism Development and Food and Beverage Operations students in WIL positions.
During the WIL period from July to November 2023, our students will embark on an exciting journey, completing 400 hours of practical experience that will bridge the gap between theory and practice. This invaluable opportunity will provide industry exposure and hands-on learning, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for success.
As the WIL coordinator, Ms Akhona Melani will coordinate placements and foster strong relationships with industry partners. Her dedication ensures a seamless and rewarding experience for students and host organizations. Ms Melani will work closely with our partners to explore potential placement opportunities and match students’ skills and interests to industry needs.
